National Art Honor Society
In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the NAHS program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in visual art. The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in Art scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service, and to bring the value of art education to the attention of school and community. Nationwide there are more than 50,000 High School NAHS members.
Most of our inductees are in Advanced Placement Art Portfolio classes. Many have already made significant community service contributions by ministering through visual arts in Camps, Vacation Bible School, Art festivals, after school programs, and in the mission field. Through good works, these young people demonstrate the teaching from Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
