From The Desk of the President

Dear JCS Families,

Your Jupiter Christian School faculty, staff, administration, and board have been praying for you and your families over Spring Break. We have also been working diligently to prepare for our transition to distance learning next week. We appreciate everyone who has reached out, shared a word of encouragement, offered to help, and prayed for our JCS family during this time. We are blessed with a caring community.

Teachers are looking forward to working with your children next Tuesday when they continue with daily instruction including a variety of teaching methods that will include: interactive, instructional teaching with the entire class joining together via Zoom, an interactive video conferencing tool (that works seamlessly across all operating systems - PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android), as well as small group discussions, class projects, weekly Chapels, opportunities to grow together as a JCS community, and one-to-one focused time with teachers, too. We are committed to continuing to deliver our JCS Mission of teaching the mind, reaching the heart, and inspiring servant leaders who will impact the world for Jesus Christ, and we are excited about some of the new ways we are going to be able to deliver our Mission by transitioning to a distance learning format.

We recognize that students need textbooks and some supplies from their classrooms, as well as books and other items from their lockers in order to be able to fully benefit from distance learning, so to help you during this time, we are going to deliver those items to you over the next 5-6 days. We are happy to leave the items in a bag outside your door (like other delivery companies are doing now) to protect and safeguard the health of your family. If for some reason you do not want us to deliver your items to you, please let Kim Nereau (knereau@jupiterchristian.org) know and we can work out a time for you to come pick up those items.

Since we are going to provide interactive, distance learning for all grades to ensure optimal continued learning to have our JCS students fully prepared to move to their next grade level for the 20-21 school year, students will need access to a device. If your student does not have access to a device, please login to Plus Portals and complete the Student Device Request Form and we will arrange to loan your student a device.

Teachers will be reaching out with more information for your child's specific classes via Plus Portals or email by Monday afternoon. We will also send out helpful information on how to download Zoom and leverage Plus Portals for distance learning. If you have questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out to your child's principal who will be happy to help.

We are glad you are part of the JCS Eagles family, and we look forward to seeing how distance learning can bring us even closer together as a community, while providing opportunities for our students to continue to rise up and grow academically, socially, athletically, artistically, and spiritually. #EaglesRising
