Early Learning Center Update

Welcome Lisa Chitty, ELC Director

Greetings JCS Families,

What a wonderful first semester it has been at Jupiter Christian School! The Guidance office has been enjoying the opportunity to meet with families and encourage students who are struggling academically or emotionally, assist in college planning, seizing scholarship opportunities and optimizing your student's testing experiences. We have been blessed to host dozens of colleges on campus thus far with a Christian College Fair, Financial Aid Seminar and Admissions Panel, and numerous college rep visits through the fall semester. We have enjoyed presenting to 7th and 9th graders about successfully transitioning into Upper School and High School, presenting to juniors about the Secrets to College Admission, we've held essay writing sessions for seniors and weekly College Workshops to support application efforts, to name a few. One of the biggest highlights in our Guidance world is to meet with your students individually. Efforts continue to be underway to call students in to meet one-on-one with their counselor, which will continue through the remainder of the school year.

As we prepare for the upcoming semester, we will continue to provide comprehensive presentations to grade levels, meet individually with students and partner to support the success of your family. We look forward to hosting another college fair in the spring, leading the College Tour during minimester, supporting Pathfinder efforts for our senior nominees, providing a Junior Seminar and hosting an ACT and school-wide standardized testing including Terra Nova, ACT Aspire, PSAT 10 and AP exams. One highlight I am particularly pleased with is our partnership with Athletics to bring a former colleague and friend, Goeun Lee, from Yale University to campus to discuss NCAA requirements and suggestions for collegiate athletic recruitment.

I am so blessed to have an amazing team who is passionate about furthering your student's future and removing barriers to their success. I see God's hand moving at Jupiter Christian School and I am thankful for all He is doing in our lives, both seen and unseen. Thank you for your partnership as we continue to further develop and improve our efforts to serve your students.

Blessings,

Aliza Beaulieu, M.S., RMHCI

Director of Guidance, College and Career

A panel of Seniors spoke to the JCS Freshman Class on "What I Wish I Knew in 9th Grade" during their GAP groups. The purpose of this time was to allow students the opportunity to hear from their peers about their high school experience and to learn how to intentionally invest in this season as we encourage them to consider the importance of the next four years.

College Workshops during 7th Hour in Room 212

Mrs. Beaulieu assisted students on Wednesdays through December 4th with troubleshooting application issues and helped to answer questions and point students in the right direction. Students should set appointments in Student Services with any remaining college application questions.
