From the Desk of the President

Dear JCS Parents,

At Jupiter Christian School, we deeply value our parent partnership in a Christian education for your children.  The administration is committed to regular communication regarding issues of school security to keep the community informed. This week, West Campus parents were informed of an incident that occurred in the Upper School.  A student made a vocal threat in a classroom setting.  As a precaution, our security protocols were enacted and our administration thoroughly investigated.  There is no viable threat to JCS and the issue has been resolved.  As an isolated incident on the West Campus, notification was not sent to East Campus parents.

It has come to our attention that misinformation may be circulating regarding the school threat made by an Upper School student on Tuesday. The administration has followed our stated policies and procedures in this situation and all appropriate measures have been taken.  Privacy regulations prevent detailed information regarding a minor from being shared publicly.  However, we understand the high priority our families place on campus security, and misinformation can cause fear to exist.

In the spirit of community and an opportunity for clear communication, I will be hosting an open parent meeting on Friday morning at 8 am in the Media Center for a question and answer session regarding this event.  Jupiter Christian School enjoys a strong working relationship with the Jupiter Police Department and the administration is currently working to arrange a Jupiter PD representative to be present for the parent meeting Friday at 8 am.

I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity Friday morning, February 15, at 8 am in the Media Center as Jupiter Christian School seeks to give timely and accurate information for concerned parents.

Blessings,

Dan Steinfield
