Board of Directors Update

Dear Members of the JCS Family,

 

In the December 18, 2018 communication to you I shared the proposed actions of the board relative to a presidential search. This is an update for the community.

 

The Board of Directors screening committee has been actively and aggressively seeking and reviewing candidates for the position of president of Jupiter Christian School.  We have posted our position opportunity on a key listserv site, contacted a number of universities, and networked with a number of persons who have encouraged top-tier Christian school leaders, as well as others, to pursue the JCS opportunity.

 

It is obvious that the national profile of Jupiter Christian School has been raised significantly under the leadership of Dan Steinfield. Most applicants indicated they are particularly attracted to apply because of the successful JCS achievement of both qualitative and quantitative strategic initiatives in the past two and one half years.  They sense that JCS is on the move, and they want to be part of what is happening here.

 

Today is the deadline for the receipt of applications. We have received over 25 applications. Among those are a number of experienced and well qualified leaders of Christian schools, and leaders of other organizations, throughout the US and North America. The committee reviewed applicants according to the position criteria and identified seven from whom we requested further information.

 

In the past two weeks the committee conducted "Skype" interviews with four persons that we identified as our tentative finalists.  From among those we have invited three, along with their families, to visit JCS for a more intensive review process. These visits will occur within the next four weeks.

 

At Jupiter Christian School, we value our partnership with our JCS families and seek to keep you well informed each step of the way. The Board of Directors and Administration will host several upcoming parent meetings to share the new strategic plan for the next three years and to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to this opportunity to share and connect with you.  More information on meeting dates and times will be communicated in the near future.

 

Please continue to partner with us in prayer for the Lord to guide in identifying and selecting that person who will be the next leader of this very special place!
