From the Desk of the President

Dear Parents,

What a fantastic fall we have experienced at JCS!  In the past few weeks alone, we have seen excellence in our fine arts program with in the Upper School Band and Choir Fall Preview Concert.  Many of our athletic teams completed successful seasons and participated in post-season play.  Our East Campus celebrated a Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and our PK2-first grade students enjoyed the Fall Festival.  Our Lower School was alive with activity as stories filled the air during Tall Tale Night.  LS students learned to appreciate their peers, JCS employees, community business and pastor's heritage through various activities while celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.  This week we gather for our Under the Sea Gala & Auction at the Wyndham Grand.  Next week, we honor our veterans with our Veteran's Day Program.  And December brings even more activity with our ESE Christmas Classic Clay Shoot, many concerts, and other holiday celebrations!  We are so blessed to be part of the JCS Family!

Athletic Update

As our Winter sports season gets underway, I would like to share some changes to our athletic staff.  Effective Monday, October 29, Mr. Scott Loud will be serving as our interim athletic director. A search for an athletic director will take place, with individual to be named in early 2019.   Michelle Williams will continue to provide support as athletic assistant.  JCS remains committed to deliver the level of athletic programming and events our students and families have appreciated over the last year.  The athletic leadership team will work to facilitate programs that seek to develop Christian leaders through the pursuit of competitive excellence.  Should you have any questions concerning this update, please contact Dan Steinfield.

Business Office Changes

Business Manager and Varsity Football Coach Jim Davis has shared that he will conclude his season of ministry at Jupiter Christian School on November 9, 2018.  Jim has served faithfully at JCS for 14 years, with roles which include secondary accounting teacher, chief financial officer; business manager; football- associative head coach & varsity offensive coordinator; and football head varsity coach.  Mr. Davis has made many positive contributions in his tenure at Jupiter Christian School.  I am thankful for his faithful service, for the financial expertise and leadership he has given, and the many young men whose lives he has invested into through mentoring on the athletic field.  Coach Davis writes,

I leave JCS with many fond memories of the people I have had the opportunity to work with and the friendships with so many families in the JCS community. I will also remember the many successes experienced on the football field including winning back to back state championships and most recently consecutive district titles the past two years. Finally, I am grateful for the opportunity to have been able to mentor the many young men that I have had the privilege to coach over the past 14 years.

Jim has accepted an opportunity to join the financial office at The Benjamin School.  Please join me in thanking Jim Davis and praying for God's blessing on this next chapter in his career.

The JCS Administration will conduct a search for a new head varsity football coach to lead the program forward.  As with all of our sports teams, football provides a strong platform to disciple young men in godly character, commitment, and team building.  Information on the search process and potential candidates will be available in January, 2019.

I am pleased to share that national accounting firm CapinCrouse will partner with JCS to provide interim financial leadership during this transition.  CapinCrouse, a national full-service CPA and consulting firm, has served mission-focused nonprofit organizations, churches, and higher education institutions whose outcomes are measured in lives changed since 1972.  Clients served nationwide include ACSI, Willow Creek Association, Christianity Today, Focus on the Family, Brooklyn Tabernacle, Hillsong NY/LA, Billy Graham Association, Young Life, Samaritan's Purse, World Vision, and 90+ colleges and universities, and 90+ K-12 Christian Schools.  Through the CFO Advantage program, JCS will receive extensive accounting and financial management from a CapinCrouse partner who will serve as Interim CFO and work closely with the president and business office staff on a weekly basis.  CapinCourse will also provide an evaluation of our business office and guide in areas for improvement and the future hiring process.

Grace. Compassion. Determination. CapinCrouse clients exhibit these traits every day as they work to change lives around the world.  CapinCrouse was founded to support mission-focused nonprofits in this transformational work, and that focus remains at the core of our mission today.  JCS is blessed to partner with an organization which supports and equips our mission.

Café Update

We anticipate the newly renovated Eagles Cafe to receive final permitting for full food service for our West Campus students and faculty on Thursday this week.  Director of Operations Jacob Godino has worked closely with Tri-Core Construction to complete the renovation which includes a new warming kitchen area and a full service food serving island.  Special thanks to Steve and Jean Smith (Florida Restaurant Equipment Professionals, REPS) for donating new, state of the art kitchen and warming equipment to the Eagles Cafe!  We look forward to showcasing WT Café and their complete menu in our newly renovated space. We will be sharing more information and details regarding the cafe and food service on Friday this week.

Blessings,
