Upper School Retreats

Upper School Retreats serve as a key part of the student and spiritual life at JCS. They allow students and faculty the opportunity to connect outside of the typical classroom setting while helping to establish a positive tone for the remainder of the year. This years the theme is "Rooted in Grace"  and students will gather together in a time of fellowship where they will delve deeper into God's word and learn more about how we can all be part of the JCS Community of Grace.

  • 12th Grade Retreat: Lake Aurora Camp, September 5th – 7th (Leave after school on the 5th and return on the 7th late afternoon)

  • 9th - 11th Grade Retreat: Lake Aurora Camp, September 6th – 7th (Leave at the start of school on the 6th and return on the 7th late afternoon)
Intramural Soccer

The JCS Intramural Sports Program is designed to teach young athletes in 1st - 6th grade the fundamentals of sports in a fun, encouraging environment. Teams will be based on registrations and split so that 2nd graders are not competing against 6th graders. Practices will be once a week after school from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the FITTEAM Field. Games will typically be held on Saturday mornings although there may be makeup games during the week. Registration for Intramural Soccer is now open and the deadline to register is Thursday, August 30. This program is run solely by our volunteers (who have completed the JCS background check process) so please contact Coach Hoffman if you are interested in serving. To register, please login to PlusPortals  and chose FORMS.

After School Clubs

First quarter After School Clubs are now enrolling. Clubs begin the week of September 10th. First quarter offerings include: LEGO Club (Grades 2-4), Jazz Band (Grades 7-12), Yoga (Grades 2-6), Chess (Grades 2-6), Drawing (Grades 2-6), and Self Defense (Grades 2-6).  Space is limited for each club and is offered on a first come, first served basis.  For any club registration questions, please email Mr. Hoffman.

School Picture Day

School Picture Day is tomorrow, Thursday, August 30th for our East and West Campuses. All students are asked to be in school uniform.

Let's Talk

Our Let's Talk series continues this year with our first seminar Tech Sensible Parenting on September 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center. Parents of students in grades 5-12 are invited to join us and hear from our special guest speaker Walter Mueller. Mr. Mueller is the founder and president of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding (CPYU) and an internationally-recognized speaker and author on contemporary youth culture. The CPYU is dedicated to "helping parents understand and respond to the complex world of their children and teens from a distinctively Christian point of view." Please don't miss out on this important opportunity to learn more about how you can guide your student and help them navigate in the world of technology.

Lower School Choral Workshop

Calling all vocalists in grades 2-6! Join us on Friday, September 14th from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. for an afternoon of singing, improving vocal skills, playing games, learning rounds and canons, and creating rhythms! The Lower School Choral Clinic is designed to generate a love for singing, increase music skills, and help raise funds for the HS Choir trip. We will meet at the covered pavilion on the West Campus after school. All this fun will be directed by the HS choir members and Upper School Choir Director, Mr. Farmer.
