Curriculum Night

On Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., the Upper School is hosting an Upper School Curriculum Night in the gymnasium. Following a brief presentation, you will be invited to experience school through your student's eyes as you move through their daily schedule. You will have the opportunity to meet and hear from each of your child's teachers on an abbreviated class schedule. Copies of your student's schedule, along with campus maps, will be available. Ambassadors will also be stationed around campus to assist with directions. Please mark your calendar now and make this important evening a priority.

Intramural Soccer

The JCS Intramural Sports Program is designed to teach young athletes in 2nd - 6th grade the fundamentals of sports in a fun, encouraging environment. Teams will be based on registrations and split so that 2nd graders are not competing against 6th graders. Practices will be once a week after school from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on the FITTEAM Field. Games will typically be held on Saturday mornings although there may be makeup games during the week. Registration for Intramural Soccer is now open and the deadline to register is Thursday, August 30. This program is run solely by our volunteers (who have completed the JCS background check process) so please contact Coach Hoffman if you are interested in serving. To register, please login to your portal and chose FORMS.

Under the Sea Meeting

Please join us on Wednesday, August 29th at 8:30 a.m. in the West Campus Cafe to find out how you can get involved with this exciting event. Email the Auction Committee for more information.

School Picture Day

Lower School Choral Workshop

Calling all vocalists in grades 2-6! Join us on Friday, September 14th from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. for an afternoon of singing, improving vocal skills, playing games, learning rounds and canons, and creating rhythms! The Lower School Choral Clinic is designed to generate a love for singing, increase music skills, and help raise funds for the HS Choir trip. We will meet at the covered pavilion on the West Campus after school. All this fun will be directed by the HS choir members and Upper School Choir Director, Mr. Farmer.

Auction T -Shirts

Auction t-shirts are still available in limited sizes. This year's shirts feature art work on the back of the shirt created by Marissa Thomson who graduated from JCS last year. They can be purchased by sending cash or check payable to JCS with AUCTION in the memo in an envelope labeled AUCTION to your child's teacher or dropped off in the main office of either campus. The first shirt is $20 and each additional shirt is $15. We have sizes youth xs through adult xl, in teal or navy. Shirts may be worn every Friday until November 2nd with JEANS or uniform bottoms. *All attire must follow the JCS handbook guidelines for dress-down days.

Upper School Retreats

Upper School Retreats serve as a key part of the student and spiritual life at JCS. They allow students and faculty the opportunity to connect outside of the typical classroom setting while helping to establish a positive tone for the remainder of the year. This years the theme is "Rooted in Grace"  and students will gather together in a time of fellowship where they will delve deeper into God's word and learn more about how we can all be part of the JCS Community of Grace.

  • 12th Grade Retreat: Lake Aurora Camp, September 5th – 7th (Leave after school on the 5th and return on the 7th late afternoon)

  • 9th - 11th Grade Retreat: Lake Aurora Camp, September 6th – 7th (Leave at the start of school on the 6th and return on the 7th late afternoon)

  • Middle School Retreat: Palm Beach Gardens Parks and Aquatic Center, August 24th during the school day
Eagles Cafe Update

If you have not done so already, please make your student's food service program selection.  It is essential that we have your student's selection in the system in order for our Eagle's Café to be prepared to provide the best service each day.

Even if you are choosing to have your student bring their own lunch, we need to have that recorded in our system. Please login to your PlusPortals Forms account and make your selection today. Those who chose to add the lunch program to their FACTS account will have their first payment processed in September included with their tuition payment.

If you have any additional questions about the new program, please email Cheryl Payne in the Business Office or call (561) 354-1957.

Eagle Extended Care

Eagle Extended Care offers a safe and nurturing environment where students in K2 through 6th grade will have snack time, homework/study time, active outdoor play, indoor games and reading time. Online registration forms are required and are available to families via PlusPortals. Once you are logged in to your PlusPortals account, choose Forms. Please contact Ms. Hermano for all Extended Care related questions. The Extended Care manual can be found here.

Parent Volunteers

Do you want to become a JCS volunteer? If so, all parents who wish to volunteer or accompany their children on JCS field trips must have a current and valid background check. Livescan will be in the East Campus Gym on Tuesday, August 28th from 7:00 - 11:30 a.m. for those parents who plan on volunteering now or in the future. The background check will be valid for 5 years and will be on file with JCS. This background check is processed through the Volunteer & Employee Criminal History System (VECHS) with the FDLE, specifically for JCS, so previous other agency clearances are not acceptable. You can accomplish this by either making an appointment at the in-school Livescan session or by scheduling an individual appointment at their office in Palm Beach Gardens.
