Summer Capital Projects Update

Dear JCS Parents,

Last year we began the planning and preparation for some exciting summer capital projects at Jupiter Christian. Through much prayer and support from our JCS families, the generosity of our donors and the hard work and determination by our board, administration, faculty and staff, our Gym Renovation Phase 1 and new East Campus are almost ready for the start of the 2018-19 school year. The transformation has been incredible! God has truly blessed our school with the opportunity and ability to enhance the facilities on our West Campus and to bring our new East Campus to life. While there are still many finishing touches to be completed before we begin to move furnishings and supplies into our new classrooms and equipment into our gymnasium, we could not contain our excitement to share a preview with you!

West Campus Gym Renovation Phase 1

Our gym renovation is nearly complete and we know you will be amazed at the exciting design changes that have taken place, including new top-of-the-line wood floors and the complete repainting of the interior space for a fresh new look.  Unique innovations such as an automated basketball system with moveable goals and new, modern retractable bleachers now allow the space to serve as a true multi-purpose facility. As a tribute to the many memories we have shared in our gym over the years, we were able to retain some of the original wood from the bleachers, with the plan to transform it into benches or decorative items that remind us of our history while we look ahead to the exciting future of our school.

Jupiter Christian East Campus

The new East Campus on South Pennock Lane, which is set on almost three acres, is conveniently located just one mile from our West campus. The transformation of the property includes key improvements such as all-new insulation and duct work, many new air-conditioning units, brand new awnings throughout, an area of new roofing and the installation of new landscape material and campus signage.

Each of our PK2-1st grade classrooms are fully-equipped and thoughtfully designed to give our students an optimal environment for learning paired with bright and imaginative details that our faculty will add to personalize each room and evoke the JCS feeling of home. Every classroom features its own student restroom facilities and many open out onto playground areas, allowing for ease of movement to outdoor play. The campus features:

  • A dedicated fine arts room for art and music education

  • 3 all-new outdoor playground areas designed specifically for age-appropriate, creative playtime under the cover of shade structures

  • A storybook butterfly garden and working herb/vegetable garden will both come to life as the school year progresses to allow students to experience all the beauty and wonder of God's creation

  • A multi-purpose outdoor covered pavilion providing a space for outdoor dining, special events, and fine arts programs, all set on beautiful tile flooring emblazoned with the JCS logo in the center

  • Physical education areas including: a spacious gymnasium designed for open athletic play, an outdoor covered sports play court plus a soccer field and basketball court

From the moment you step into the main entry hall you are surrounded with classic, beautiful details such as the non-skid marble style flooring, Grecian tile border and the centerpiece of the space, a large wooden plaque reminding us all of the joys of seeing our children walk in the truth of Christ. While we are so excited to share with you a short "before and after" photo slideshow of our East Campus transformation, we are even more overjoyed that our East Campus will be a place where our youngest students will learn and grow in a Christ-centered environment.

The opening of the new East Campus allows for many exciting changes and upgrades for our West Campus as well.

Lower School (LS) art and music programs are now located in the Pledger Education Center in the LS hallway. This move has created an upgraded space and location for these specials.

LS Spanish now has a permanent classroom in the LS hallway, a significant upgrade from the previous system which required the teacher to rotate between the homerooms.

A new LS library is now located in the LS hallway, allowing for a space dedicated specifically to students in grades 2-6.

Our Extended Care program will now be located in classrooms, by age, in the LS hallway.

Parking and carline operations will benefit as we anticipate better efficiency this year with car line procedures and the availability of many more parking spaces in our main lot due to upgrades that were made to our ATC parking area, now designated for faculty.

We invite you to view a "sneak peek" slideshow of the progress in both spaces by visiting our website and ask for your continued prayers as we near the full completion of both projects.
