West Campus Faculty & Staff Update

Dear JCS Parents,

We hope you have been enjoying the first weeks of summer vacation with your family! Our students worked hard this year and we are so proud of all they have learned and accomplished. We pray that this summer will be a time of relaxation and fun for them as well as an opportunity to spend valuable time with family and friends. Our JCS Summer Camp sessions are in full swing on our West Campus and so far our camp participants had a great time at our American Girl, Cheerleading, and Lit Comes Alive camps. Camp Eagle, our full day camp, began this week and continues next week and throughout the month of July. For more information and to register for upcoming camps, visit our website.

At the beginning of the month, our faculty and staff met for an in-service on campus to reflect on the school year. We gathered together to celebrate all of God's blessings, spend time in fellowship, and begin to prepare for the upcoming 2018-19 term. With an exciting new school year less than a couple of months away, our administration and staff have been working diligently to screen and interview some new employees who will join our team of dedicated professionals to provide our students with excellence in Christian education. We are excited to introduce you to these outstanding individuals who will begin their ministry at Jupiter Christian in August 2018.

Jacob Godino—Director of Operations & Girls Varsity Basketball Coach

We are excited to welcome Jacob to Jupiter Christian! A former Division 1 college basketball player for Temple University, Jacob comes to JCS with experience in coaching, teaching, and program coordination ranging from K-12 athletics to work experience in programs on the college and professional levels. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Recreation Management as well as a Master of Education degree in Adult and Organizational Development from Temple University.

Jacob began his career after college as a statistical analyst for the Philadelphia 76ers, where he gained a working knowledge of the NBA. He later taught as an adjunct professor for Temple University. Most recently he served as an athletic coordinator for 17 varsity sports teams as well as the basketball coach for middle and high school teams at a Christian K-12 school in Pennsylvania. In his role there, he was also instrumental in coordinating and implementing several capital projects for the school including securing full HD LED scoreboards, the redesign and upgrade of the gym flooring, research and design of the turf athletic field and locker/training rooms as well as the creation of a hall of fame program. Jacob recalls, having grown up with loving and supportive Christian parents, how the Lord's hand has been at work in his life in both athletics and academics. Because of this, he has a calling to help students reach excellence in athletics while they grow closer to Jesus. We look forward with great anticipation to see God's plan for Jacob unfold at JCS, where he will utilize his education, experience and talent to not only lead our campus operations team but also to guide our student athletes to success on the court and in the mission to make a difference for Christ.

New Upper School Guidance and Faculty Members

As part of our 2018 Strategic Plan, Jupiter Christian will be adding a second staff member to the guidance department for the new school year. We are pleased to welcome Hanna Hill as Guidance Counselor. Hanna has most recently served as a high school counselor in Colorado where she advised a freshmen class of over 400 students with their course selections. She also led meetings with students, parents, and teachers to determine accommodations for student academic needs and collaborated on college counseling, workshops and university visits. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Christian Education from Wheaton College in Illinois as well as a master's degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado. Hanna has gained valuable, hands-on experience working with women and children in her travels to both Asia and South America. We are blessed to have Hanna join the JCS family!

Finally, as a wonderful addition to our Upper School faculty, Emily Malone will serve as a new faculty member in the English department. Emily, who is relocating from Spokane, Washington, has 17 years' experience teaching high school curriculum and also served as an adjunct professor of Spanish at Moody Bible Institute. She holds a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Spanish graduating with honors Summa Cum Laude from Texas A & M University.

We are blessed to welcome each of these new faculty and staff members to JCS and will continue to share with you, this summer, as we add more team members to our East Campus as well.

Blessings,

Dan Steinfield
President
