Cafeteria & Staff Update

Dear JCS Parents,

With the renovation project for the gym beginning next week, we would like to update you on how the cafeteria and food service will be impacted as well as some exciting changes coming to our food service program for the 2018-2019 school year. Please take time to review the important information below:

  • May 14-May 25: A modified food service menu will be provided with offerings from our restaurant partners, as indicated on the May Menu on our website. Our soup and salad bar will not be available at this time. Please click HERE to view the May menu.

  • May 29-May 30: For the last week of school following the Memorial Day holiday, the food service portion of the cafeteria will be closed and Lower School students, as well as faculty and staff, who will be on campus for our last two full days of school will need to bring a sack lunch.

As per our regular schedule, there is no food service on early release days including the last two days of the school year, May 31 and June 1.

Looking forward to the upcoming 2018-2019 school year, Jupiter Christian will see some exciting changes to our food service program. We are pleased to announce our partnership with WT Café as our new food service provider. The school food service concept of WT Café is simple: cook fresh food from scratch every day. They specialize in children's food with a mission to provide meals made from scratch everyday using all natural, organic ingredients that are both delicious and nutritious. Their chefs prepare meals with only nut-free ingredients and include special dietary choices and seasonal menus that utilize fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. At Jupiter Christian, we are proud to partner with WT Café to meet the highest nutritional standards for our students while providing them with fresh, exciting options. On Tuesday, May 15th, our students, faculty and staff will be treated to FREE lunch service provided by WT Café, where they can try out one of their fresh, healthy meals. More information on this new food service provider, including menu and pricing options, will be shared in the coming months.

Staff Update

Jen Ceppo will conclude her ministry at Jupiter Christian School in June of 2018.  The Lord has pressed on Jen's heart to step out of administration and take a new career opportunity which will enable her to focus more on her family at this season of her life. Jen has served faithfully at JCS since 2002 and I am grateful for Jen's partnership in building academic excellence.

Our Senior Leadership Team is committed to continuing the outstanding academic and college preparatory programs we have put in place at Jupiter Christian including our JCS Senior Capstone experience, College Minimester Tour, and our new Schools of Distinction (or magnet) program. The innovative and extensive Guidance College and Career program, developed in partnership with an outside consulting group and initiated in 2016, will continue with further implementation in 2018-19.  We have seen how God is faithful to provide servant leaders for JCS who will help our students excel and use their gifts to make a difference for Christ.

We are pleased to announce Aliza Rozencwaig will be joining our team as Director of College & Career Guidance Services for our 11th and 12th grade students. Aliza comes to JCS with impressive professional experience in college counseling and admissions. In her eight years at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Mrs. Rozencwajg served as Director of Admissions, Assistant Director of Admissions, and Senior Admissions Counselor.

In fact, some of our JCS families may recognize Aliza from her role as PBA Admissions Counselor for Palm Beach County. Aliza has also served as a Primary Therapist and Group Facilitator in both residential and outpatient treatment facilities and as a mental health counselor with Christ Fellowship Church. She holds a bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication and a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling.  We are excited to see how God will work through Aliza to give our students a superior start as they graduate, pursue their calling, and discover how they can make an impact on the world for Christ.

In addition to the hiring of Mrs. Rozencwaig and as part of our 2018 Strategic Plan, Jupiter Christian will also be adding a second staff member to the guidance department for the new school year. This new team member will serve as Guidance Counselor and College and Career Assistant Counselor for our 7th-10th grades.  The administration is currently interviewing several well-qualified candidates and will introduce this new team member within the next two weeks.

With all of the exciting changes coming up for our school, we remain ever grateful to our JCS family for their dedication and support as we continually strive for excellence in Christian education.

Blessings,

Dan Steinfield
