- K3 – Teacher Observation
- K4-1st (AABL – Admissions Assessment for Beginning Learners)
- 2nd – 12th (ISEE –Independent School Entrance Exam)
As part of the admissions process, each incoming K3 student will meet with our K3 teacher for a 15-30 classroom observation during a school day. These observations are intended for us to get to know your student and help assess classroom readiness. Observations may be scheduled Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 a.m. or Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. Contact the Lower School Admissions Director to set up an observation any time starting in December.
Delivered on an iPad, AABL is an online, child-friendly assessment of an early learner's development in verbal and quantitative reasoning, early literacy, and mathematics for applicants for K4 through Grade 1 (ages 4 through 6). The AABL is administered by JCS staff through the iPad with headphones and applicants are first given a tutorial on how to use the iPad to respond to test items.
Length/Cost of Test
The test is untimed and takes approximately 35-45 minutes to complete including a short break. The AABL costs $65.
