After completing a national search, Jupiter Christian School is pleased to announce that Mr. Keith Huisman has accepted an offer to become the Athletic Director at JCS. Huisman received his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Trinity Christian College where he also played four years of basketball.
Huisman comes to JCS with 13 years of experience in athletics from two South Florida Christian schools. During this time he has earned multiple accolades attributed to his efforts and accomplishments. Dr. Jim Colman, JCS president, said, "Keith has an outstanding record of program development and growth in multiple Christian schools. Keith is a great addition to our athletic staff." Huisman will begin his work at Jupiter Christian this summer.
The Baseball team had a unforgettable season ending in a tough district game against Oxbridge Academy. The final score was 2-3, a loss to Oxbridge, but a great effort by the whole team!
The track team performed extremely well at the District meet on April 14. Jessica Eaton took 2nd in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:38.10,
Michaela Bradford finished 4th in the shot put with a throw of 25'0",
Dorson St.Phard finished 1st in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 11.37 and 1st in the 200 Meter dash with a new school record time of 23.24,
Kurtis Thornton finished 2nd in the 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.75, 2nd in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 44.23, and 3rd in the Triple Jump with a jump of 39'8".
Kylee Shipley and Taylor Conti finished 3rd at States this week in Doubles Tennis. Kylee Shiplee also finished 3rd at States in Singles Tennis to wrap up her high school career, and she will be going on to play tennis at the University of North Carolina in the fall. What a great accomplishment! Congratulations!
All JCS students/parents who are interested in JCS Volleyball for the Fall 2015 Season.
There will be a formal meeting to discuss the JCS Volleyball Program (Spring, Summer and Fall events) on Monday, April 13th, from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Main Gymnasium.
We will be discussing several things, such as:
1. Spring Training (SAS)
2. Summer Camps/Club Championships/Trainings
3. Team Try-out Dates
5. DIG PINK
6. Volunteer Needs/Opportunities
7. Devotionals and Community Service Projects
8. Season Goals (Individual, Team and Program)
There will be a parent meeting on April 20th at 6pm for all who want to try out. We are proud to announce that Aimee Yocum will be the guest speaker. She is the Executive Assistant to the President at the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders. She has been involved with nearly every facet of FCC; from a competitor to former head coach of Berean Christian School in West Palm Beach. She graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in May of 2012, and joined the FCC Administrative team full time. She is currently attending Wesley Seminary to complete her Master of Divinity. She enjoys using cheerleading as a platform to disciple and reach the next generation for Christ!
Tryouts will be held on April 27-29th from 3:30-5:30pm.
Dr. Brower was named Palm Beach Posts' Small School Soccer Coach of the Year, for his unprecedented season that included an 18-0 regular season record and a trip to the regional finals. His dedication and leadership to the team will always be remembered.
Josh Brower, a junior at Jupiter Christian is the All-Area Small School Boys Soccer Player of the Year. The Jupiter Christian midfielder achieved that this season, recording either a goal or an assist in 19 of the 21 games he played in. As a junior, Brower finished with 39 goals and 18 assists to lead the Eagles to a 21-2 record and their first regional final in program history.
2015 JTAA Memorial Scholarships are now being accepted. Applicants must be a graduating senior in high school and have participated at some time in the JTAA Sport of Tackle Football, Baseball, or Softball. Forms are available in the athletic office and must be submitted back to JTAA by April 25, 2015.
