Minimester 2017: Dominican Republic

It was an absolute joy seeing our students operate in their God given gifts as they served in the Dominican Republic during our minimester trip. Among many other things, our students spent time painting houses to brighten up a village that lived without running water and without septic facilities. They built concrete sidewalks to allow kids and families the opportunity to walk through their village without constantly sloshing through mud. They filled and leveled a small field area to give kids a place to kick a ball and run without being injured. They helped put on a concert in the village as we proclaimed God's love into the atmosphere and over a people that have so little, but who God loves so much. They played games and spent time with families and children, and although they did not share a common language or background experience, they gave and received incredible love.

This truly was a life changing experience, and our students allowed themselves to be used by God to demonstrate His love. This trip was a perfect example of when we respond to God and say, "use me." Keep saying that phrase, and respond to what He calls you to do, and you will change the world.

Parent Partnership: Investing In Our Community

What an amazing week of love and encouragement our PTP has showered on us! The PTP went above and beyond to celebrate teacher and staff appreciation week. In addition to gaining 10 pounds, we have felt supported, encouraged, richly blessed, and FULL!

JCS is blessed to have a group of parents who are willing to invest their time and resources to partner with our faculty and staff in the ministry of Christian Education. A special thank you to the community businesses who also supported the PTP efforts to make this week a great success: Burrito Brothers, Guanabanas Island Restaurant, Jupiter Smallcakes, and Checkers.

JCS regards each family's partnership with school administrators and faculty as vitally important to the academic, social, and spiritual development of their student. Parental involvement is reflected in virtually every area of the school, offering family members the opportunity to invest their time and talents at the level that they desire. Volunteer efforts are fostered in an inviting and supportive environment from fine arts to athletics, classroom celebrations, and connected-ness with other JCS families, teachers, and staff. A dynamic volunteer base significantly impacts the academic and extracurricular setting surrounding students on a daily basis. We invite you to join us as we nurture and support the outstanding student body and faculty that are the heart of Jupiter Christian School.
