National Honor Society Tapping Ceremony

NHS brings together students that demonstrate strong qualities in service, leadership, character and scholarship. Each fall at JCS we induct new members into the National Honor Society. These members are identified in a "Tapping Ceremony". During this ceremony current members walk behind inductees and silently tap them on their shoulder to announce that they have been selected.

Teen Valley Ranch

Each year at JCS our 8th Grade class takes a memorable trip to Teen Valley Ranch. TVR is a Christian camp located in North Carolina. While at camp, students will be able to participate in wall climbing, putt-putt, horseback riding, basketball and possibly swimming, depending on the weather. There is an optional white water rafting trip and we will spend the day exploring Linville Caverns. The students will also be taking part in daily worship services and morning devotional times. This year our trip coincides with a JCS football game in Charlotte, NC so we will be able cheer on our Eagles too! The memories of this week will last a lifetime.

Senior Retreat - Class of 2010
The Senior Retreat will be held at Lade Aurora Christian Camp August 23 - 25.  It is a great experience for the class. Although the time there is short, the days are packed with opportunities to grow closer to each other and discover a few things about ourselves. We are very blessed to have Aaron Cavin back as our speaker this year. He joined us here for our winter Discovery Days last year and really connected with all of us.

Senior Trip

The location for the Senior Trip has been selected. We will be touring Italy, Austria and Germany. Our travel dates will be the week of March 6 - 12, 2010 and the trip will begin in Milan and end in Munich. This is an amazing opportunity to experience an unforgetable adventure with your classmates. Please contact Mrs. Kelly for more information on this trip.

 Meeting with Jostens

On October 27 there will be a meeting during lunch  for all seniors to attend. At this meeting our Josten's representative will take all cap and gown measurements and review options for graduation announcements.

Clubs at JCS
Interested in starting a club at JCS?  Make sure you have a purpose as well as a school advisor and submit your suggestion to Mrs. Kelly.

Political Club                                                                                                                           Republican - Democrat - Unaffiliated - All are welcome at the Political Club meetings. Co-founders, Aundrea Boyd and Richie Frontero have formed this exciting club to help inform their fellow students and motivate them to get out and vote.  Lively debates are expected along with many other exciting opportunites to get involved. Stay tuned for more information.

Sewing Club
JCS offers a Sewing Club led by Mrs. Jenkins. The meetings will be held twice a month on Tuesday, specific dates will be announced. The club is open to all secondary students and is held in room 106.

Key Club
The Key Club is committed to community service projects. Please contact Mrs.Willams for more information on upcoming activities.

 Student Government Association

The Council shall have the following purpose:

- To serve the school and the Christian community
- To act as a liaison between the administration, faculty, and student body.
- To provide advocacy for the student body, and be their official voice to the   administration.
- To foster a Christian atmosphere in the school and to promote school spirit
