Applying to Jupiter Christian School
Admission to Jupiter Christian School is open to academically qualified students seeking a college preparatory program and challenging curriculum, in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment.  JCS faculty and staff personally vest themselves in partnership with parents and class participants to foster, develop, cultivate and refine the God-given gifts, talents and academic abilities of each student.

Applying students will have demonstrated the ablilty and propensity to practice and maintain the following:

  • GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Respectful behavioral history
  • Community involvement
  • Standardized testing and grade level proficiency:
    • Public school students applying to JCS must have scored a Level 3 or above on FCAT or out-of-state evaluation equivalent to FCAT
    • Students transferring from private schools and home school students must have performed in upper 50th percentile of Standardized Testing (i.e. SAT, FCAT, ERB, IOWA Basic, Terra Nova etc.)

Students meeting the above requirements may submit a completed application packet to the Admissions Office.

The admission process begins with submission of the completed application packet. Upon review of the completed application, JCS will call to schedule the Admissions Exam. Students scoring in the top 50th percentile will have their application and test scores reviewed by the appropriate JCS Admissions Review Committee. Students scoring below the 50th percentile are ineligible for Admission to JCS.  Invitations of Acceptance or Declination are communicated within 7-10 school days following the Admissions Exam.

Please Note:  Students who have been expelled, suspended or released due to academic performance or numerous demerits must show a year of academic and/or behavioral success prior to making application at JCS.

Jupiter Christian School admits academically qualified students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.

Testing
Students entering  Kindergarten through Third grade may be asked to participate in an informal, one-on-one, teacher-student evaluation and/or a more formal, age appropriate, admissions test. All students in grades Four through Twelve are required to sit for the JCS entrance exam.  Fifth through Twelfth grade applicants may also be required to interview with the Admissions Review Committee. Testing, interview dates and/or conferences will be scheduled once the completed application, fees, and records are reviewed by the Admissions Office.

Fees
The standardized entry testing fee is $75 and is applicable to students applying for Fourth through Twelfth grades.  This fee is collected on the day of the exam.

There is a $500 application fee payable upon the submission of the completed application.  Students offered an invitation of acceptance are neither actively enrolled nor eligible for student privileges until this fee is paid and submitted to JCS.
