Library Events

Welcome Back Students -  The LRC will be open daily from 7:30 - 3:30.  I will look forward to seeing returning students and meeting new students.

2nd - 6th Grade Students - Get ready for a new year and another challenging Library Olympic Game competition. 

1st Quarter LOG - Your first quarter LOG forms will be handed out during your first visit to the Library.

STAR Reader Tests  - We will be testing students within the first month of school.  Be looking for more information coming home in the Wednesday note.

New Books -  Over 200 new (and gently used) resources have been added to the library over the summer.  I can't wait to show you!

Accelerated Reader
Students in Grades 2 - 6 can access Accelerated Reader website and take tests from home over the internet.  To access this website, click here.   

There is also a website to look up titles to check for existing tests.  It is www.arbookfind.com .  
The points they earn in taking Accelerated Reading quizzes, will go toward their Library Olympic Game points. 

Students will be choosing their passwords and learning how to access the website the first couple weeks of school from the library and the computer lab.

L.O.G. 2008-2009
Library Olympic Games is a parent sponsored, reading incentive program for students in grades 2 - 6.  If you are interested in donating items to the LOG store, or volunteering to assist in this program, please contact Janine Sellers at jsellers@jupiterchristian.org.

Elementary Library
Library classes are offered weekly to all K3-6th grade students.  These classes are designed to teach students the basic skills needed to effectly use library resources.  Students are also exposed to a wide variety or literary types, reference materials, and periodicals.

Secondary Library
Secondary students have scheduled access to the library throughout the week.  In addition to books, reference materials, and periodicals, students are encouraged to use online periodicals, databases, and major search engines to accomplish their academic tasks.
