Fine Arts News

Welcome Krisse Banas!
We are pleased to welcome Ms. Krisse Banas, JCS Class of 2002,  as our new Elementary Art Teacher.  She teaches K3 through 4th grade art.  Krisse received her BFA from Stetson in Fine Arts with a minor in Art Education.  She has taught children's art in museums, summer camps, home school programs, and other Christian Schools.  We are privileged she has returned to us as a member of the Fine Art faculty.  Take a moment to welcome her back to the JCS family.

Art Fundraiser & Auction Projects
The art program begins the year with an ambitious schedule - we are offering the very popular Art fundraiser, as well as producing outstanding class auction projects!  Art Fundraiser: The fundraiser features your child's (K3 through 6th grade) self portrait reproduced on a ceramic tile and many other products like mouse pads and coffee cups -  never too early to think Christmas gifts!  The proceeds for the fundraiser go toward the purchase of a ceramic kiln.  The square tiles will be assembled into wall murals.  Four murals, from school year 2006-2007, are permanently installed in our Elementary hallway.   Auction Projects:  Wait until you see the class Auction projects made by your child.  A market umbrella, hammock, picnic table, beverage cooler, trunks, and chairs are among this years collectible items.

Volunteers needed!
If you can share your time, talent and smile with us by assisting the children while they make the art fundraiser and auction projects, please call 561.354.1993 or email Mrs. Sites at csites@jupiterchristian.org.  This is a great way to spend time with your child and her/his classmates!

Art Contests
If your budding artist enjoys competitions, they should speak with their art teacher about contest announcements.  There are currently contests for children from K5 through 12th grade.
