Dress Down Fundraiser
There will be a school-wide dress down fundraiser for the mission teams on Thursday, February 25. The cost of the dress down day is $5 for the day and can be paid to the homeroom teacher. Students must follow dress down guidelines in the Parent-Student Handbook (page 8).

Meeting for Fourth through Sixth Grade Elementary Parents
Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 2, at 7:00 p.m. A very important parent education meeting is scheduled that evening in the JCS “Roberts Family” Gymnatorium. Kim Mausaukas from the Safe Schools Program of the Palm Beach County Schools will present a program on the use of the Internet, cyber-bullying, social networking sites and text messaging. Kim is a national expert in the area of cyber-bullying and recently spoke to the administrators of the Christian Schools of Palm Beach County.

There is a battle going on for the hearts and minds of our children, and inappropriate use of technology is an area where our students are vulnerable. If your child has not already been faced with some of these issues, then you can thank the Lord. Every parent needs to be at this meeting. This meeting is not for the students.

There will be follow-up assembly programs for students from sixth to twelfth grades on March 26. There will be separate assemblies for sixth-eighth grades as well as ninth-twelfth grades.  Follow-up activities with fourth and fifth graders will take place in the classroom by our teachers.

Please pray with us that our students’ hearts and minds will be protected and that they are able to stand strong when temptations come their way.

Spring Pictures
Spring pictures will be taken on Thursday, March 4. Students may dress in their Sunday best outfits (please adhere to the JCS Dress Down Day policy found in the Parent/Student Handbook). Please choose fun, bright colors; solids work best. Flyers were sent home for you to pick the pose that you like best. These forms should be handed to the photographer on picture day. Elementary students may turn these in to their teacher. If you need an extra form, you can pick one up in the front office.

Special Absence Request Form
If elementary parents know their child will be missing school due to a planned absence, please be sure to complete a Special Absence Request form. This form will enable the student to keep up with class work being done in his/her absence and will lessen the amount of make up work to be done upon their return. Please give the teacher at least five days to fill out the form prior to your trip. Thank you.
